Wayne & Myrene Cox

The Wayne and Myrene Cox Collection is comprised of over 50 artworks created by a selection of Jamaican Intuitive Artists. The artworks included in the collection reflect demonstrate an impressive variety of paintings and sculptural forms that were inspired by spiritual insight, journeys and introspection, some developed for religious or ritualistic practice.

These include artists such as Errol McKenzie, Sylvester Stephens, Vincent Atherton and his son Errol Lloyd Atherton (also called “Powah”). The donation also included an archive of audio-visual documentation produced by Wayne Cox, which features interviews with several of these artists, further increasing the knowledge based necessary for assessing the practice of Jamaican Intuitives Artists.
